RG Chisholm Reserve Sports Pavilion

A new community sports pavilion was commissioned to replace an existing structure which the junior football and crickets clubs had outgrown. The new facility includes a substantial social space and kiosk and kitchen, change rooms for home and away teams, umpire room, storage and amenities.

Materials connect the exterior to the interior, with timber soffit linings being reflected internally as perforated timber panels to improve acoustics. This seamless transition allows flexibility for events and functions, maximising the appeal and capacity of the pavilion for the wider community.

Careful design of the interior allowed for the respectful placement of the historic honour boards.

Outdoor space was maximised to provide a more welcoming facility and a new identity for the pavilion. A large undercover outdoor space runs the length of the building, providing a generous and sheltered viewing area. Robust brickwork provides a strong base with sheet metal cladding to the roof and as a vertical feature defining the new facility and framing the interior spaces.
